Grizz

Grizz is a 6-year-old miniature Schnauzer. He was a patient of Dr. Cinda’s when he was a puppy. He kept eating rocks and kept ending up at the veterinary clinic until he needed more testing and possibly surgery. Grizz was going to be euthanized due to the cost of care. He was only 6 months old. He was relinquished when Dr. Cinda offered to cover his cost to get radiographs and surgery.

After all testing was done and nothing pointed to a specific answer, Dr. Cinda opted to do an exploratory surgery due to his declining health as a puppy. During surgery, Dr. Cinda found that 12 inches of his intestines were impinged causing them to turn purple and start to die. He was eating rocks because his stomach was always hurting.

She removed the impingements on the intestine and watched to ensure the tissue was healthy. The surgery was a success and he has been doing well ever since. He is a permanent resident of the ranch and is Cris’s baby.
