Yesterday, our new X-ray table was installed! We have been using a portable unit for the last 20 years in the mobile unit. It took really good quality radiographs, but most likely put out more radiation than the newer units. Yesterday, the technician put an extra filter on the new unit so the radiation will be much less.

We have new lead gowns and thyroid shields too. Our thanks go out to the individuals who made donations to make this happen. THANK YOU!! Now my staff and I won’t be glowing in the dark from radiation.

The table is much larger also, and moves in four different directions, so we do not have to move the patient; the table moves! Fancy!! I checked with the state of Arizona, and we will be all up to date with the current regulations for radiation safety and the new unit. Thank you also to Sound Imaging and Antech as they really went above and beyond to help us get the unit that would meet our needs.  We are excited to use the new equipment for our patients, as we have had an abundance of emergencies recently that need fast, accurate diagnostic tools.
