Rosies’ Rescue Ranch has quite a few long-term residents that we have been the right home for. It is amazing, because two have just found the perfect home. Butler has been here for almost 5 years. He came in when a disc ruptured in his lumbar spine and he was paralyzed. We took him to the neurologist, and we administered platelet rich plasma in his lumbar spine twice and a lot of rehabilitation. He has been running around since then and wanted to go home. He loves his hair done and car rides and I would joke and say his name should have been Fabio. His original owner had adopted another dog, Isabella, from us when he became paralyzed and was not in a situation to take him back. Isabella died from congestive heart failure this year and after some time Butler’s owner asked if they could adopt him back. I told them yes as he never stopped looking for them. It was like the movie Hachi the Akita that never stopped searching for his owner that passes away at the train station. He is back home and could not be happier.

Jag

The second dog that was adopted is Jag. He is a small mixed breed that came in with papers that he was a Schnauzer. He is not a Schnauzer but is the cutest little guy. He has no teeth and we were told that he was going to be euthanized because he could not breed anymore. We took him and had him for several years. He would run around with our Schnauzer, Doodle and Doberman Pincher. He was unfazed by other dogs’ size and fit in with all of them. I would hug him every morning and evening and tell him how special he was, and he would gum my arm and smile. He is so stinking cute! I was surprised that he was not adopted earlier. He now runs the house and likes to watch TV with the owners. He also gets his hair done and gets pampered. I am so happy for him.

Our final adoptee this month is Clyde the Yorkie boy that Cris flew back from Texas this year. He was running loose on the streets with a giant shock collar on and was not trusting anyone. It took Cris all week to catch him just before she was scheduled to leave. She took him to a veterinarian there in Texas and he had no microchip. She got him vaccinated, heart worm tested and a ticket to fly home with some mild sedative. He was perfect for her. He has been in the yard with Bonnie our Doodle and Max the Schnauzer who he plays with. He just got placed in a home with a woman that takes care of her elderly mother. She fell in love with him and cannot believe how affectionate he is. No more shock collar and just lots of love. Grandma loves him too. Thank you to all that consider adopting rescue animals and older animals!
