You all remember Ruby, the cute little girl that just had heart surgery? She was followed on Facebook by a gentleman that just lost his Shih tzu of 17 years and fell in love with Ruby when he saw her picture. He is a retired eye doctor and has plenty of time for a new addition to their family. We were considering keeping Ruby, but we worked all the time, and she was not getting very social. She just ran with our pack of dogs.

I talked it over with Cris and I called the man to speak to him. He told me his story and I liked him. I told him we were considering him as an adopter for Ruby. He told me his birthday was the next day and that was the best gift ever! 

We kept Ruby a month after her heart surgery to make sure she was doing well and spayed her. He and his wife came to pick her up and Ruby took to the wife first. She follows her around and claims their house as her own.

It is neat to see her personality come out and the fear melt away. She deserved to have a good life and now she will!
