When we first got Timmy home from the shelter we noticed he was mildly dragging/ knuckling on his hind legs and his fur was very thin. He did well at the ranch and was happy and part of the pack until he got older and unexpectedly started having seizures. We had him on seizure medication that helped for a while until he lost the use of his hind legs.
At this point we tried everything medically on our end to help, but it got to the point where he needed a Neuro Specialist. After much testing, the neurologist suggested spinal surgery, that was his best chance to walk, but it would not cure the seizures. Timmy was only a year and a half old. Some would say he is a shelter dog, not even a purebred or even just a dog, why should we spend the money on him? Timmy is a Life and we love his spirit and will to live. This is why we rescue, if we can make their life better we will.
